SOLUTION-DYED ACRYLIC (SOMETIMES CALLED CANVAS)
Solution-dyed acrylic is a woven fabric treated with special agents which protects the fabric from the damaging effects of UV light, mildew, and water. This loose weave fabric is highly breathable, providing for a more comfortable covered environment.
VINYL-COATED POLYESTER
Vinyl-coated polyester is popular for commercial use since it is available in a variety of colors and can be opaque or translucent. The material is resistant to UV light, mildew, and water and is recommended for high humidity areas. This material is easy to clean and flame-retardant.
ACRYLIC-COATED POLYESTER/COTTON
This is a traditional awning fabric composed of a cotton/polyester base coated in acrylic. This fabric is less resistant to UV light, mildew, and water and is not recommended for high-humidity areas.
